Terry Howell Position on the Future

My Priorities for Calhoun County

“We, Not Me”

As your County Commissioner, I believe leadership means listening, working together, and focusing on the issues that directly impact our communities. My priorities are centered on improving infrastructure, supporting public safety, and continuing to serve the people of Calhoun County with a strong commitment to collaboration and community involvement.

Road Improvements

Maintaining and improving Calhoun County roads will continue to be one of my top priorities. Safe, reliable roads are essential for our residents, businesses, and emergency services. I will continue working closely with the county highway department to identify problem areas, complete needed repairs, and ensure our transportation infrastructure keeps pace with the needs of our growing communities.

Supporting Law Enforcement & First Responders

Over the past three years, we have made important progress in supporting law enforcement and first responders across Calhoun County. I believe this work must continue. Our deputies, firefighters, and emergency personnel put their lives on the line to protect our communities, and I will continue advocating for the resources and support they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

Animal Control

Animal control has long been a concern for many residents in our county. One major step forward has already become a reality, and I believe we are now in a position to take the next step. I remain committed to continuing improvements that will better serve both our communities and the animals in our care.

Water & Drainage Infrastructure

Water access and proper drainage remain important issues in many parts of the county. I will continue working to address drainage concerns and support water infrastructure improvements where they are needed most. I am very proud of the work our highway department has done and will continue supporting their efforts to solve these challenges.

Listening to Our Communities

The most important part of public service is listening. I will continue meeting with residents, community leaders, and local organizations throughout the county to ensure that the voices of our constituents are heard and considered in every decision we make.

Rehabilitation & Second Chances

Rehabilitation programs will take a stronger role during my next term. I believe in creating opportunities that help individuals rebuild their lives and return to their communities as productive citizens. Programs that support rehabilitation benefit not only individuals but also the safety and stability of our entire county.

Litter Control

Litter control is another issue that deserves renewed attention. I plan to pursue new ideas and stronger efforts to address litter concerns throughout District 4 and across Calhoun County. A cleaner county benefits everyone and reflects pride in our communities.
