Re-Elect

Terry Howell

Calhoun County Commissioner
District 4

Meet Terry Howell

I have been a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and have spent decades working, serving, and investing in the community I call home. A 1974 graduate of Saks High School, I built a long career in manufacturing, serving 25 years with FMC / United Defense / B.A.E. Systems. In addition to my professional career, I have also been a small business owner, operating Howell Event & Party Services and 1st Class Parties & Events.
I’ve remained actively involved in community and civic life throughout the county. I also previously served two years on the Board of Directors for Indian Oak Golf Course, and I am a member of the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce. I am also an active member of Cornerstone Worship Center.

In November 2022, I was proudly sworn in as a Calhoun County Commissioner and later served as chairman of the commission. During my time in public service, I have focused strongly on community partnerships and initiatives that help strengthen Calhoun County. One issue that has particularly shaped my leadership approach is homelessness outreach. I currently serve as chairman of The Right Place Board, a nonprofit organization dedicated to housing stability and support services for individuals and families facing housing insecurity. My commitment to helping others was reinforced during a visit to New Orleans more than a decade ago, where I witnessed extreme poverty which led me and my wife to begin preparing and distributing food bags to those in need. That experience helped inspire my continued involvement in community service and public leadership.

My wife, Frances Howell, and I have been married for 26 years. Together we have three children — Sherie, Cody, and Cheyenne — and are proud grandparents to Trevor, Paislee, Dakota, Kase, Harper, Heidi, and Hallie.

Through both public service and community involvement, I remain committed to working with others to build a stronger future for Calhoun County.
